Hello! My name is Kelcey Hund, and I am a student at Kansas Wesleyan University majoring in psychology. I am a student intern at Oasis Counseling Services. I earned my associate degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College, which is where I found interest in psychology. Throughout my time at Kansas Wesleyan University, I participated in volleyball and psychology club. I have earned academic honors including the presidential honor roll, dean’s honor roll, and Daktronics NAIA women’s volleyball scholar athlete as well as athletic honors. I have also done research regarding the effects of coaching styles on student-athletes’ self-esteem and performance at KWU. After graduating from Kansas Wesleyan University in the spring of 2024, I plan to attend graduate school to earn my master’s degree in counseling or clinical psychology.
My areas of interest include therapy with children, young adults, and adults. It is my goal to help improve the lives of those struggling with mental illness whether it be influenced by life stressors, personal troubles, or other factors. I believe that understanding what factors a strong influence on mental health at a young age have is essential in helping people build a happier, healthier, and independent lifestyle.
